State lawmakers resume the business of the General Assembly session today. As they reconvene, Senate leaders will get ideas on how the state can save money from a group of business leaders.

The recommendations come from a Budget Task Force put together by Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle in January. Its task--how to further slash state spending without making drastic cuts to essential services or raising taxes.

Most of the ideas are expected to be focused on long-term budget solutions, and would add up to more than $3 billion in savings.
