A cotton field being harvested by heavy equipment

Cotton has long been a staple crop for Georgia’s farmers, but with shrinking demand, some farmers are leaving the crop behind.

Mercer University in Macon will host practice matches for, and house, the Los Angeles Football Club as the MLS team competes in the FIFA Club World Cup in Atlanta later this month.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway in Henry County is now Echo Park Speedway.
