Governor Brian Kemp signed a series of workforce development bills into law at the state capitol Monday.

Kemp said there is a reason Georgia is consistently named the No. 1 state for business for as he signed four bills into law.

“To us, that is not just a title," he said. "It represents real jobs for hardworking Georgians and historic investments coming to literally every part of our state. And one of the key reasons for that success is our commitment to working with job creators."

The bills Kemp signed codify the college admission initiative, or MATCH program, for students into law, extends the sunset date on the college completion grant, raises the loan repayment amount for some veterinarians in rural Georgia, and creates a scholarship for former foster children.

Kemp’s deadline to sign all remaining bills into law is Wednesday.
