If you’ve been to the Georgia coast, there’s a good chance you’ve tasted it: the delicious mix of shrimp, sausage, corn and more known as Lowcountry Boil. It’s always a filling meal, but on Saturday there will be an extra-large pot on the fire in Savannah.

The Savannah Food and Wine Festival is aiming to set a world record with the World’s Largest Lowcountry Boil, and the stats are staggering.

1,500 pounds of Georgia shrimp will go into the dish, along with 3,000 ears of corn, 1,100 pounds of sausage - and, of course, 30 pounds of butter. It’s safe to say no one at the event is going home hungry.

GPB is a media sponsor of the Savannah Food and Wine Festival, which is hosting the event.
