Jessica Leigh Lebos, community editor of Connect Savannah, and Amy Condon, associate editor of Savannah Magazine, offer up some ways to have fun in the Savannah area this weekend.

Amy’s picks:

Reception Thursday, 5:30-7:30 p.m., exhibit open through the end of the year.

-Celebrate sea turtles - and support efforts to protect them - at Caretta Research Project’s sea turtle celebration at the Florence. Enjoy delicious food, live music and a silent auction - and taste the evening’s specialty cocktail, the “turtletini.” Thursday, 6-9 p.m.; $25.

Jessica’s picks:

-Eat your fill of local munchies at the Savannah Food Day Festival Saturday in Daffin Park. In addition to chowing down, learn about Savannah’s sustainable food movement with a full day of cooking classes, dozens of workshops and educational activities for the kids. And be sure to check out the Forsyth Farmers Market’s brand new mobile effort, Farm Truck 912, making its debut at the festival. Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; free.

-Drink for a cause Saturday night at Service Brewing with Hops for Humanity, supporting the work of Savannah’s Habitats for Humanity. The evening will feature live music, food, raffles and silent auctions as well as Service’s signature local brews. Saturday, 6-9 p.m.; $25.

-Save some room after all that food for Sunday’s Shalom, Y’all Jewish Food Festival in Forsyth Park. The annual event features all the deli sandwiches (with pickles), blintzes, challah and latkes you could want - but be sure to arrive early, as some favorite dishes do sell out. Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; free.
