Georgia’s congressional delegation is reacting along party lines to President’ Obama’s executive order on immigration.

The president’s plan will shield from 5 million people from deportation.

Atlanta Democratic Congressman John Lewis said Congress should follow the President’s lead. Lewis says the executive order is right, fair and just.

DeKalb County Democratic Congressman Hank Johnson said President Obama is boldly pushing the nation ahead on immigration reform.

But Republican Senators Johnny Isaskson and Saxby Chambliss issued a joint statement---saying they’ll consider "all legislative and legal options-to stop the president from acting by executive order".

Meanwhile, Northeast Georgia GOP congressman Doug Collins called the President’s action “political retribution.”
