The Peachtree Road Race got canceled early for the second straight year. What happened?

About 1,100 runners of the over 43,000 who registered were still on the course when the Peachtree Road Race was called early on July 4.

Peachtree Road Race innovates for 55th running on July 4

On July 4th, 1970, 140 runners set off from the corner of Peachtree and Roswell Roads in the first Peachtree Road Race. Only 110 of the runners finished.

90-day detour at North Druid Hills and I-85 begins April 26

Access from North Druid Hills Road to Buford Highway and I-85 is taking a major turn this week as the Peachtree Creek bridge closes on Friday, April 26, for 90 days, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Update: Sinkhole swallows sign, threatens restaurants on Atlanta's Peachtree Road

What began as a deep but much smaller hole in front of Sufi’s Kitchen on Peachtree Road in Buckhead on Friday, has now turned into a large sinkhole that swallowed the Persian restaurant’s sign on Monday afternoon. It’s also threatening neighboring restaurants R. Thomas Deluxe Grille and Bell Street Burritos as well as the southbound lanes of Peachtree Road.
