The Rock Hall's inductees will include eight acts who have all been eligible for at least a decade. In its "musical influence" category, the hall nods to Latin and African pop for the first time.

The shortlist also includes a 1990s pop diva, heavy metal pioneers and a legendary R&B singer and producer.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced the shortlist for its 2025 class of inductees on Wednesday. The shortlist includes groundbreaking Southern rap duo OutKast, Mexican rock band Maná and the recently reunited Britpop group Oasis.

As they have every year since 1986, members of the Hall will select from a group of nominees – though these days, the nominees tend to represent a wider spectrum of popular music.
