Atlanta shooting suspect has been charged with murder

Jail records show the suspect in a mass shooting in Atlanta that left one woman dead and four others wounded has been charged with one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault.

Police say a shooter opened fire inside the waiting room of an Atlanta medical facility, killing one and injuring four others as authorities swarmed the city's bustling midtown neighborhood in search of the 24-year-old suspect. Atlanta police said the shooting occurred inside a Northside Medical building on Wednesday afternoon.

Press conference: suspect arrested after Midtown Atlanta shooting left 1 dead, 4 injured

Police say one person has been fatally shot and at least four others injured in a shooting in a Midtown Atlanta building. The Atlanta Police Department said on Twitter that the active shooter was inside a building on West Peachtree Street, between 12th and 13th Streets. No suspect was in custody.

New Midtown Atlanta park plan receives federal funding

The city of Atlanta will receive more than $3 million as part of a recent congressional spending bill. The money will go towards a plan that would connect Midtown's east and west sides.

Atlanta police: 2 killed, 1 shot in Midtown neighborhood

Atlanta police say a woman fatally shot two people and wounded a third at two different locations in Atlanta's Midtown neighborhood and was later taken into custody at the city's airport. Investigators did not immediately know what prompted Monday's attack but said they believed the victims were targeted.
