Germany, France and the United Kingdom will hold talks with Iran in Istanbul Friday, just days after the three European nations warned they would reimpose stiff sanctions on Tehran.

In comments made public on Sunday, Mohammad Javad-Zarif discusses how he has "sacrificied diplomacy" in order to appease demands from the nation's military.

Before the U.S. pulled out, the deal gave Iran money and gave the world assurances that Iran wasn't trying to build nuclear weapons.

A U.N. Security Council vote on a U.S. bid to extend an arms embargo against Iran failed last week. Now the U.S. secretary of state wants to bring back all sanctions lifted by the Iran nuclear deal.
