There's a tea enjoyed and used for ceremonial purposes by indigenous Americans for centuries, maybe even millennia, before coffee ever came to this continent, brewed from the leaves of a plant called the yaupon holly. 

These delicious treats were cultivated and enjoyed by native people for hundreds if not thousands of years. But with the arrival of the Spanish in Latin America, they were shared around the globe.
