The oldest living Olympic medal winner, Ágnes Keleti, has died at age 103

Keleti, who was also a Holocaust survivor, was hospitalized in critical condition with pneumonia on Dec. 25. She died Thursday morning in Budapest, the Hungarian state news agency reported.

Child survivor, U.S. senator speak at Holocaust Remembrance Day event

About 500 people, including U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff, Deputy Consul General of Israel Anna Shteingart, a handful of state and local politicians, and dozens of Jewish community leaders gathered at Greenwood Cemetery in Southwest Atlanta today to mark Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Both are survivors of the Holocaust, and this is the second time they are fleeing war. "I never thought I would live to see such horror for the second time in my life," says Sinelnikova. Germany has welcomed dozens of the oldest refugees fleeing Ukraine — those who survived the Holocaust during World War II. They've now narrowly escaped death for the second time in their lives.

Boris Romantschenko was killed last week in a Russian attack in Kharkiv. He survived four concentration camps and later "campaigned intensively for the memory of the Nazi crimes."

Eddie Jaku, Holocaust survivor and self-proclaimed happiest man on Earth, dies at 101

Jaku spread his message of happiness and resilience in a popular TED Talk and 2020 memoir. He died in Sydney, where he co-founded the Sydney Jewish Museum and educated students about the Holocaust.
