President Joe Biden visited South Georgia Thursday to assess storm damage from Hurricane Helene in Berrien County.

Former President Donald Trump and Gov. Brian Kemp will tour east Georgia Friday to survey damage, holding a joint news conference in Evans, a suburb of Augusta.

Governor Brian Kemp says the number of deaths from Hurricane Helene in Georgia is now 33, many from trees that fell on homes.

Georgia Power says power has been restored to 90% of customers who lost it during Helene.  But much work remains to be done.

Augusta chairman confident Masters will go on as club focuses on community recovery from Helene

The US could see shortages and higher retail prices if a dockworkers strike drags on

U.S. ports from Maine to Texas are closed due to a strike by the union representing about 45,000 dockworkers. Dot Padgett: Jimmy Carter inspired loyalty and hard work

When former President Jimmy Carter first campaign for president, his was not a household name. So it took an army of volunteers to campaign in early primary battleground states, knocking on doors to introduce voters to Carter. The "Peanut Brigade" was instrumental in helping Carter sway voters in early primary states like New Hampshire.
