Israeli forces have found no hostage remains so far, but their raid has essentially rendered the largest hospital in Gaza's Khan Younis nonfunctional.

In a posting on social media, the Israel Defense Forces said it was launching "a precise and targeted operation against Hamas in a specified area" of the hospital complex.

Israel says it wants hospitals in northern Gaza to empty out so it can go after Hamas militants operating there. Palestinians say health care is collapsing in the territory.
