San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin called the charges "historic" and vowed to apply the law evenly "no matter what the color of your skin....or whether you wear a uniform to work."

Jeffery Ryans, the man who sustained dog bites, "certainly wasn't posing an imminent threat of violence or harm to anyone," according to the district attorney.

Footage released by the Lancaster Bureau of Police Sunday shows Ricardo Munoz was fired upon by an officer. Police said Munoz had a knife and was brandishing it "in a threatening manner."

Willis defeated six-term Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, and her former boss, in Tuesday's runoff. Howard has been dogged by scandal, including his handling of the Rayshard Brooks case.
