Amid a rise in violent crime, police officers across Georgia are embracing a new community outreach initiative as they seek solutions.
The second annual National Faith & Blue Weekend saw more than 200 outreach events in cities across the state of Georgia. Local churches across the state hosted a variety of events, including Halloween costume drives, litter clean-ups and community-building bike rides alongside local police officers.
Montana now has six mobile crisis response teams — up from one in 2019 — with more in the works. Each team has a different makeup, but all use mental health support to diffuse tricky situations.
