Georgia State University says the students were not sent an official acceptance letter but "communication" from a department welcoming those who intend to major in a specific academic area.

Four more Georgia public universities to require standardized test in fall 2026

Georgia will require the ACT or SAT college tests at four more public universities starting in the fall of 2026. But the University System of Georgia will not restore testing requirements to as many colleges as before the pandemic.

Scores have fallen for six consecutive years, and the trend accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The average scores in reading, science and math showed test-takers weren't ready for college.

Georgia General Assembly passes legislation to change ACT score requirement for Zell Miller scholars

House Bill 607 successfully passed in the 2023 Legislative Session after a Senate vote of 50-2. The legislation would “revise the definition of Zell Miller Scholarship Scholar by changing ACT score requirement for certain students,” per the bill.
