Students can now opt between several versions of the test: the ACT core exam (which includes reading, math and English), the ACT plus writing, the ACT plus science or the ACT plus science and writing.

Four more Georgia public universities to require standardized test in fall 2026

Georgia will require the ACT or SAT college tests at four more public universities starting in the fall of 2026. But the University System of Georgia will not restore testing requirements to as many colleges as before the pandemic.

Georgia General Assembly passes legislation to change ACT score requirement for Zell Miller scholars

House Bill 607 successfully passed in the 2023 Legislative Session after a Senate vote of 50-2. The legislation would “revise the definition of Zell Miller Scholarship Scholar by changing ACT score requirement for certain students,” per the bill.

Georgia high school seniors continue besting the nation on ACT

Georgia high school students earned an average ACT score of 21.6 this year, beating the national average of 19.8, according to new data from the state Department of Education.
