A project to reconnect downtown Atlanta is at risk of losing key funding. The Stitch would span 17 acres over the I-75/85 Connector, linking neighborhoods long divided by the highway.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump has filed a lawsuit against four companies in connection with a fatal dock collapse on Sapelo Island last year. Crump says the companies were responsible for the unsafe conditions that led to the deaths.

And Atlanta is officially one year away from hosting the FIFA World Cup. Local organizers say they’re excited to begin the final stretch of planning for the world’s biggest soccer tournament, which kicks off next summer.
