Congress has yet to pass the 2024 farm bill, which determines funding for programs like crop insurance and conservation. The largest portion of the bill goes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and billions for that program are now on the chopping block as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce federal spending.

University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue confirms the Trump administration's spending cuts are already impacting the state’s public colleges and universities.

Meanwhile, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) says improperly stored chemicals sparked last year’s fire at BioLab’s Conyers facility. The federal agency is now proposing more than $61,000 in penalties.
