Former President Bill Clinton will campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris in Georgia on Sunday as part of a tour through the Southeast.

The location for Clinton's visit has not been announced yet, but campaign officials say he is targeting rural areas and will take a bus tour through eastern North Carolina as well.

Before Harris' rally in Savannah in September, Clinton was the last Democratic presidential candidate to make a stop in Southeast Georgia in 1992.

At his appearance at the Democratic National Convention in August, Clinton praised the 2024 ticket of Harris and her VP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, calling them "two leaders with all-American but still improbable life stories; it can only happen here. Their careers, after all, started in community courtrooms and classrooms, two leaders who spent a lifetime getting a good job done."

Campaign officials say Clinton's visit is part of a larger strategy to reach rural Georgia. They also say more than 40,000 volunteers have joined Democratic coordinated campaign on the ground here in Georgia since Vice President Harris announced her candidacy.

Former President Donald Trump visited Georgia earlier this month after Hurricane Helene. He returns to the state for a National Rifle Association event in Savannah on Oct. 22 and heads to Duluth for a Turning Point PAC rally Oct. 23.
