The chairs of the Senate Finance Committee and House Ways and Means Committee would be allowed to each pick up to five tax breaks or credits a year to be reviewed for their return on investment for the state.

The tax breaks and credits would be picked by May and reviewed by December. Under the bill, the reviews would be done by the Office of Planning and Budget. The tax credits and breaks could then be kept in place, expanded or cut.

Monday’s Senate vote was 51-0.
