A year and a half into her first term running Georgia's largest city, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has already seen historic ups and downs.

She entered office in January 2018 amidst a federal probe into corruption in the previous administration. In March of that year, hackers seized the city's computer systems demanding thousands of dollars in ransom to return key functions.

Since then, Bottoms celebrated Atlanta successfully hosting Super Bowl 53.  She also lauched the city's Open Checkbook portal to make government spending more transparent.

Bottoms says there's still plenty to do on her list, such as fufill major campaign promises like a pledge to contribute $1 billion towards afforable housing in Atlanta.

This week, she's marking another first. Bottoms will communicate with constituents in a way she hasn't since she's taken office.
