It's another jam-packed weekend in Savannah, with plenty to do. Visit Tybee's Ansley Connor and Savannah Master Calendar's Marianne Ganem Poppell have some tips.Ansley and Marianne talk weekend events.

Marianne's picks:

  • Run for a cause at the Old Savannah City Mission's 5K to help end homelessness. The proceeds support the organization's efforts to feed and shelter people and help those struggling with addiction. The run begins at 8 a.m. Saturday; $25 in advance, $30 day of. 
  • Experience firsthand the challenges low-income individuals face at CASA and Step Up Savannah's poverty simulation. Participants spend two hours working together to live a month in poverty and learn to rethink the challenges it presents, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
  • Enjoy some soup while supporting local kids at Soup It Up for Loop It Up. The event features soups by local chefs, live music and more, with proceeds benefitting Loop It Up's work providing art programs for Savannah children from 7 to 10 p.m.; $60 per person or $100 for a pair.
  • Spend the day outdoors at Skidaway Island State Park's Spring Art Festival. Browse art from a array of vendors, grab a bite from the food trucks or hike a trail from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $5.

Ansley's picks:

  • Take a peek inside some of Savannah's gorgeous houses at the Tour of Homes and Gardens. The self-guided tours highlight a different historic neighborhood each day, Thursday through Sunday; $35-45.
  • Have a ladies' weekend with the Southern Women's Show at the convention center. Shop and sample hundreds of boutiques with fashion, jewelry and more, enjoy fashion shows and hear from celebrity guests from Friday through Sunday; $9 in advance, $11 at the door.
  • Laugh away the weekend on Tybee with back to back events celebrating Charlie Chaplin. First it's Funny Bones, a screening of "The Pawnshop" with a program revealing the film's surprising secrets from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday; $15. Then it's Red Letter Days, exploring Chaplin's fame and his iconic Tramp character, including a screening of "Shoulder Arms" from 3 to 5 p.m.; $15.
