The Mercer University community continues to mourn the shooting death of one its own students. 23-year-old Jibri Bryan was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon outside a busy Flash Foods near the campus. This is the first murder of the year for Bibb County.

Former Macon Mayor C. Jack Ellis will seek office in the upcoming elections. Ellis recently told a gathering of local Democrats that he plans to seek the job of Bibb County tax commissioner.
Ellis, who served as Macon's mayor from 1999-2007, would not confirm any plans to run for political office when asked. What’s the attraction to the role of tax commish?
