Macon&Eggs: Gun Violence Hits The Mercer University Community

The Mercer University community continues to mourn the shooting death of student and basketball player Jibri Bryan.

HOT TOPIC #1:
The Mercer University community continues to mourn the shooting death of one its own students. 23-year-old Jibri Bryan was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon outside a busy Flash Foods near the campus. This is the first murder of the year for Bibb County.

HOT TOPIC #2:
Former Macon Mayor C. Jack Ellis will seek office in the upcoming elections. Ellis recently told a gathering of local Democrats that he plans to seek the job of Bibb County tax commissioner.
Ellis, who served as Macon's mayor from 1999-2007, would not confirm any plans to run for political office when asked. What’s the attraction to the role of tax commish?
