Authorities say they've recovered the body of a worker who died after becoming trapped in a concrete silo in Cobb County, northwest of Atlanta.

Cobb County fire spokesman Dan Dupree said the man's body was found around 9 p.m. Monday at Thomas Concrete's plant on Canton Road.

Authorities tell WSB-TV that two workers were doing repair work inside the silo Monday afternoon, when one worker lost his footing and was immediately buried by hundreds of pounds of gravel.

Fire officials didn't release the identity of the worker who died.

Dupree tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
