VIeue body cameras

State lawmakers headed by democratic Sen. Vincent Fort are introducing a broad Law Enforcement Reform package Tuesday to the Georgia House and Senate.

The legislation would repeal no–knock warrants, require body cameras for police and increase criminal penalties associated with hate crimes.

The package of legislation would also prohibit restoration of gun rights to violent felons, repeal Georgia's Stand Your Ground law and appoint a special prosecutor for cases involving police.

Fort also wants to require police precincts to report police violence to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and to demilitarize police precincts in Georgia.
