WSB-TV is reporting that Maggie McCollom, wife of the Peachtree City Police Chief, is paralyzed from the waist down.

Chief William McCollom has been on paid administrative leave after saying he accidentally shot his wife once in the back on New Year's Day.

Maggie McCollom told agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation she was asleep when the shooting happened. She also believes it was an accident. Chief McCollom told a 911 operator he was moving his service weapon off the bed when it went off.
