The Atlanta Streetcar is set to welcome its first group of passengers. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and other officials will be on hand for a grand opening ceremony Tuesday morning at Woodruff Park. Reed has said passengers are invited to ride for free for the first three months of service.

Reed says the streetcar's 2.7-mile route will connect neighbors to several tourist attractions, museums and entertainment venues. The route includes 12 stops from Downtown to the Martin Luther King Historic District.

The streetcar's opening was delayed and authorities have said it was involved in two accidents during a testing period.
