Ebola gear

The Atlanta–based Centers for Disease Control will train medical professionals how to fight the Ebola virus.

Training is available to all medical professionals deploying to West Africa. Trainees will learn to safely remove their safety equipment, how to pick up human waste and how to dispose of a deceased person.

Earlier this week Atlanta city officials asked department heads to form action plans and preventative strategies for Ebola and other contagious diseases.

City officials approved legislation that calls for Atlanta department heads to submit plans within 30 days covering how to protect city employees, contain threats to the public and provide necessary resources to address contagious diseases - like training, protective gear and decontamination procedures.

CDC director Tom Frieden has urged action so that Ebola "is not the world's next AIDS."

The current epidemic is the worst Ebola outbreak since Ebola was discovered.
