Three Hollywood filmmakers are facing charges of involuntary manslaughter in Wayne County Superior Court in the death of camera assistant Sarah Jones. Jones, 27, was killed by a train while working on the set of the Gregg Allman biopic “Midnight Rider” in coastal Georgia in February. Investigators say the filmmakers did not have permission to be on the tracks.

An attorney for the film company, Unclaimed Freight, is declining to comment.

GPB's Sarah McCammon speaks with a longtime Savannah movie producer and director, Michael Shortt, who says the crew never should have been placed in harm's way.
