Executives of Georgia-based Club Car say they have completed a round of layoffs.

Company spokesman Brian Formato tells The Augusta Chronicle that the layoffs involve some Augusta employees, but he declined to say how many.

Formato said the reduction affected employees both in Augusta and in the field.

Company spokesman Bill Bryant estimates that the Augusta Club Car workforce is about 1,000 people

The global headquarters of the company, which makes golf carts and other vehicles, is in Columbia County.
