People joke that The Masters Golf Tournament has been sold out for the last 50 years but it’s true. Barry White is with the Augusta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau:

"The same people receive tickets year after year," said White. "The people who have tickets will be the same people who get tickets next year and the only way that changes is if they die or if they take a cell phone on the course!"

But that doesn’t seem to stop Masters fans from breaking the bank to get into the prestigious tournament. Internet ticketing outlets sell a one day tournament badge for anywhere between $600 to over a thousand. An Atlanta man was robbed at gun-point in Augusta last week when a would-be ticket seller made of with his $14,000 in cash.

Barry White says it amazes him how much people are willing to pay for Masters tickets.

"It blows my mind as well to see some of these ticket brokers and companies that will put together packages and I scratch my head too and wonder how they come up with some of those tickets," said White.

According to Georgia law ticket-scalping isn’t illegal if it’s done at least 2,700 feet from a venue.
