A Marietta attorney was sentenced today to more than 10 years in prison for bilking investors of more than $28 million.

Prosecutors say Robert P. Copeland ran a Ponzi scheme.

Authorities say he told clients he would use their money in lucrative real estate financing and very high returns.

The scheme collapsed in early 2009, leaving more than 125 investors furious.
