Join GPB Education to hear Atlanta Dream veteran player, Kia Vaughn, read the 2023 Mayor’s Summer Reading Club books! Stick around for crafts: make a cardinal that looks like CC from The Curious Cardinal, or create your own sensory bag to replicate the traffic jam in Little Blue Truck Leads the Way. Each family will go home with a set of books and a take-home craft for further explorations. A librarian from Fulton County Library System will be on hand to register you for a library card.
American Public Television and GPB Education are offering a summer series of train-the-trainer workshops for secondary and pre-service teachers. Each workshop uses episodes from the Emmy Award-winning documentary series The Future of America’s Past to model how teachers can develop learning resources to increase student media literacy and critical thinking skills through digital humanities projects that feature primary source / archival materials.
