    Grade Level: PK-3

    PBS Kids programming engages preschool and lower elementary aged children with STEM-inspired content that invites them to further explore their environment and grow in the four key areas of childhood development – cognitive, social, emotional, and physical. Characters like Ruff Ruffman and Sid the Science Kid encourage curiosity about the natural and physical sciences, while Peg + Cat and Cyberchase offer opportunities to use math in application with problem-solving skills.   • Journey to GPB’s Gasha Go Gaming World for Early Childhood Computer Science

    Grade Level: PK-3

    We have a BIG problem. We need to make as many toys and stuffed animals as we can to fill up the gashapon machines before the kids arrive. It’s going to be a busy day at the arcade!

    GPB’s GASHA Go World computer science education program for children in grades K-2 supports literacy as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) objectives by encouraging critical thinking, exploration, and discovery. Through inquiry and game-based learning, students build number sense and develop foundational computer science skills while exploring new approaches to problem solving that harness the power of computational thinking.   • Who are You? Learning Forensics With PBS Learning Media

    Grade Level: 6-12

    Forensic science is one of the fastest-growing career choices with a projected growth of 16% over the next ten years (Indeed.com). This rewarding career applies the love of science to the process of finding the truth and seeking justice in legal proceedings. In this workshop, participants will discover lesson plans and digital resources (with teacher support materials) from PBS Learning Media that students can use to investigate forensic science careers such as fingerprint technician, DNA analyst, evidence technician, forensic science technician, criminalist, and others.

    Grade Level: 3-12

    Your STEAM students haven't been on a field trip in ages and they've had enough! They're taking extreme measures to "plan and carry out an investigation to predict and observe whether objects, based on their physical attributes, will sink or float" and heading out to sea. Their submersible is almost ready, but they haven't started planning their dive suits and you're a little worried that they don't fully understand the concept of buoyancy.
