Path to Certification

Assistant Principal Ryan Hart knows that agriculture is integral to the Mulberry Creek community. In an effort to meet students where they are, teachers, community partners, and administrators from Harris County have created STEAM project-based learning activities for all grade levels to collaboratively answer the question: How does agriculture impact our community? 

In this video, Fannin County decision-makers discuss the importance of implementing STEM education as a school-wide culture shift. From creating pipelines for faculty collaboration to connecting with proactive community partners to engage students, these plans are well underway in the North Georgia mountains. 

After hearing feedback from former students now studying at Georgia Tech that said they were "miles behind," Hiram High School administrators decided to focus their attention on growing their computer science program and starting the process of becoming a Georgia STEM-certified school.
