Mathematics Remote Learning Plans
Content experts at the Georgia Department of Education have developed Remote Learning Plans for teachers and parents. These Georgia Standards of Excellence-based plans were specifically designed for use during these uncertain times as support for school districts, administrators, teachers, and parents who are working tirelessly to provide students with quality content.
The plans are easy-to-use and include both “plugged and unplugged” activities. Check back for more Remote Learning Plans in each content area as they are updated weekly.
Big idea/topic: The student will represent, relate, compare and perform operations with whole numbers, initially with sets of objects. Click to download.
Big idea/topic: The student will develop an understanding of whole number relationships and place value, including grouping in tens and ones and comparing 2 two-digit numbers, based on meaning of the tens and ones digits. Big idea/topic: The student will develop an understanding and fluency with multi-digit multiplication, and develop an understanding of dividing to find quotients involving multi-digit dividends, generalize place value understanding to multi-digit whole numbers. Click to download.
Big idea/topic: The student will understand place value. The student will extend division to 2-digit divisors, integrate decimal fractions into the place value system and develop understanding of operations with decimals to hundredths, and develop fluency with whole number and decimal operations. Coordinate Algebra/Algebra I (HS)
Big idea/topic: The student will graph different types of functions and analyze, solve, and interpret quadratic equations with complex solutions. Click to download.
Analytic Geometry/Geometry (HS)
Big idea/topic: The student will experiment with transformations in the plane and develop an understanding of congruence in terms of rigid motion. Click to download.
Advanced Algebra/Algebra II (HS)
Big idea/topic: The student will interpret relationships between quantities. the student will understand that “equivalent equations” are equations that have exactly the same solutions, and that multiple equivalent equations can represent the same relationship. The student will determine and explain whether two equations are equivalent. The student will identify operations that can be performed on an equation to create equivalent equations.
