Harry Potter: A History of Magic - Monday, December 30 at 7 PM

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book, this documentary visits the real-life magical history behind J.K. Rowling’s beloved classics. Includes interviews with J.K. Rowling herself as she examines the most exciting items on display at the British Library’s Harry Potter exhibition and opens her private archive to reveal drawings and drafts that have been hidden away for years. 

 

Secrets of the Masons - Monday, December 30 at 10 PM

The Freemasons are a longstanding organization that are an object of fascination to many historians and conspiracy theorists. Secrets of the Masons tracks back to the origins of its founding and how the movement grew, and also features present-day Masons from around the world, including the installation of a new Grand Master Mason in North America.

 

POV: Midnight Traveler - Monday, December 30 at 11 PM

When the Taliban puts a bounty on Afghan director Hassan Fazili's head, he is forced to flee with his wife and two young daughters. Fazili shows firsthand the dangers facing refugees seeking asylum and the love shared between a family on the run.

 

New York Philharmonic New Year’s Eve 2019: Sondheim Celebration - Tuesday, December 31 at 8 PM

The New York Philharmonic and guest vocalist Katrina Lenk (“The Band’s Visit”) celebrate the orchestral music of Stephen Sondheim, performing suites from "Sunday in the Park," "Into the Woods," "Sweeney Todd,” and more.

 

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra & GPB Present: An ASO75 Concert - Tuesday, December 31 at 9:30 PM

Join Maestro Robert Spano as he guides viewers through the musical selections chosen for the opening concert of the ASO’s 75th Season. Performances include Wagner’s Prelude to Meistersinger and Jenifer Higdon’s Concert for Orchestra. The concert also features world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell.
