Next week, some of country music's best and brightest gather at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium for a joyous celebration of the genre. We'll also look at the life and career of a groundbreaking star of stage and screen. Take a look below at what we've got coming up.


Country Music: Live at the Ryman - Sunday, September 8 at 8 PM

In anticipation of the premiere of Ken Burn’s latest documentary, Country Music, this concert taped at the Ryman Auditorium, one of the most hallowed venues in Nashville, explores country’s roots, and highlights the diverse styles of its artists. Dierks Bentley, Roseanne Cash, Rhiannon Giddens, Vince Gill and more pay tribute to the genre’s eclectic, layered history and provide viewers with a taste of everything from western swing and bluegrass to honkytonk and cowboy music. 


POV: Grit - Monday, September 9 at 10 PM

After her town is left submerged by a tsunami of mud, Dian, a politically active teenager, galvanizes her neighbors to demand reparations from the corporate powers accused of one of the largest environmental disasters in recent history.


American Experience: The Feud - Tuesday, September 6 at 9 PM

You know their names, now learn the true story behind the family conflict that evolved into a mythic American tale of jealousy, rage and revenge and helped create the negative “hillbilly” stereotype. American Experience: The Feud examines the Appalachia of the Hatfields and the McCoys, and the changes that precipitated their deadly clash.


Frontline: Flint's Deadly Water - Tuesday, September 10 at 10 PM

Exposing the deadly toll from the Flint water crisis. A two-year FRONTLINE investigation uncovers the roots and extent of a deadly Legionnaires' outbreak during the water crisis, and how officials failed to stop it.


American Masters - Raúl Juliá: The World's a Stage - Friday, September 13 at 9 PM

Discover the life and career of Raul Julia, the charismatic, award-winning actor and humanitarian known for versatile roles on stage and screen, from Shakespearean plays to “The Addams Family.”
