GPB invites you to join us on Saturday, July 27 for Be My Neighbor Day. Bring the entire family to the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA to learn about acts of kindness, participate in hands-on activities, and meet everyone’s favorite neighborly feline, Daniel Tiger!

Be My Neighbor Day is supported by the Fred Rogers Company and  PNC Grow Up Great, an initiative celebrating 15 years of investing in the futures of pre-K students. In addition to Daniel Tiger, attendees will get the chance to meet community helpers from the Atlanta Fire and Rescue Department and plant a compassionate garden with Compassionate Atlanta

The event is free and open to the public, aiming to reach as many families as possible to teach children about the importance of being kind, showing compassion, and about the meaning of community. “We are very excited to partner once again with PNC Grow Up Great for this fun event,” said GPB’s Director of Community Engagement, Emmalee Hackshaw. “It’s a great opportunity for children to learn about being a kind and caring neighbor with one of their favorite PBS KIDS characters.”
