Join Rickey Bevington Live at the Gulch
Join GPB Radio in downtown Atlanta's the Gulch Wednesday, May 29th from 4 to 7 p.m. for a special live broadcast of NPR All Things Considered with Rickey Bevington.
Rickey will broadcast from the The Faction Atlanta United FC fan tailgate ahead of the evening's match against Minnesota United FC at nearby Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Live guests include Atlanta United Academy, women soccer players, Tormenta FC and Soccer in the Streets. Plus, Atlanta United FC Fans tailgating ahead of their team's home match! The event is free and open to the public. No ticket required!

Bernie Sanders Campaigns in Augusta
Vermont senator and 2020 Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders holds a campaign rally in Augusta during his weekend sweep through southeastern states.
The event was originally scheduled to be a town hall style meeting at the 400-seat Kroc Center theatre but was relocated to the Jessye Norman Amphitheater with a capacity for 1,800 spectators.
Before his trip to Augusta, Sanders made stops in Asheville, NC and Denmark, SC. On Sunday he will hold a rally in Birmingham, AL.

Billionaire To Pay Off Student Loan Debt For 2019 Morehouse Graduates
Graduating seniors at Morehouse College received a surprise gift from billionaire philanthropist Robert Smith who announced he would provide a grant to pay off the sum of student loan debt for the class of 2019.
During commencement ceremonies Sunday at the historically black college, the tech investor told graduates, "You are surrounded by a community of people who have helped you arrive at this sacred place and on this sacred day."

Atlanta City Council Moves A Step Closer To Closing City Jail
The Atlanta City Council approved a resolution Monday aimed at closing and repurposing the city jail.
The legislation, introduced by Councilman Andre Dickens, creates a task force which would then decide what to do with the building and inmates.
It would be made up of advocates, city of Atlanta and Fulton and DeKalb County officials, but it could also feature current and former incarcerated people. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms could also select up to 25 people to join the task force.
