Hope Givers, an Emmy® Award-winning youth mental wellness series on Georgia Public Broadcasting and PBS LearningMedia, received a $50,000 grant from Born This Way Foundation's Kindness in Community Fund. The fund provides a $1,000,000 commitment to support local organizations and their community-led mental health work in coordination with Lady Gaga’s The Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour.

“We’re thrilled to share that Hope Givers has been selected in the inaugural cohort as a Kindness in Community Fund recipient," said Tamlin Hall, Executive Producer of Hope Givers stated. "Our series aligns with Born This Way Foundation’s mission to make kindness 'cool.' The donation will help further our shared commitment to working for and with young people to validate their emotions and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health.”

The Kindness in Community Fund celebrates Born This Way Foundation’s continued commitment to uplift community-led work and make kindness cool, validate the emotions of young people, and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health. In addition to the grants, Born This Way Foundation team members will meet and volunteer with the local organizations during the dates that The Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour stops in each city.

“We are thrilled to announce the 22 organizations whose community-led work we will invest in through our Kindness in Community Fund. The diversity of essential services these organizations provide represents the intersectional approach we must take to address and support mental wellness,” said Maya Enista Smith, Executive Director of Born This Way Foundation. “Young people have clearly stated their need for proactive mental health support, especially as they face overlapping global crises. These organizations work for and with young people, ensuring their perspectives and needs are placed first.”

The idea for the fund originated in 2017, when Born This Way Foundation team members volunteered alongside local organizations at each stop on Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour. The local nonprofits each had their own unique set of challenges and unmet needs. As a result, the Kindness in Community Fund was created to respond directly to the emerging and changing needs of nonprofit partners and the communities they serve across the country.
