Later this summer, a group of educators served by Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) will join more than 100 of their colleagues from around the world for the 2018 DEN Summer Institute (DENSI), an immersive, week-long professional development experience. A global community of education professionals supported by Discovery Education, the Discovery Educator Network (DEN) connects members across school systems and around the world through social media, virtual conferences, and in-person events, fostering valuable networking, idea sharing, and inspiration. The six-day professional learning experience will be held July 15-20 at University of North Carolina, Wilmington.

The Georgia educators scheduled to participate in this special event include:

Jennifer Hall, Melissa Dandy Walker, Jennifer Lockwood, and Makisha Rogers from the Atlanta Public Schools,

Natalie Davis from the Dekalb County Schools,

Ana Hale, Chanel Johnson, and Christian Padgett from the Fulton County Schools

Susan Winstead from the Oconee County Schools, and

Emy Aultman from the Tift County Schools.

GPB is incredibly proud of the educators from Georgia chosen to participate in DENSI 2018. We are inspired by their commitment to using the latest technologies and digital content to help all students reach their highest potential, and we look forward to them returning to our state’s classrooms with new strategies for using technology to support the success of all learners.

Earlier this year, GPB renewed its longtime collaboration with Discovery Education that brings high-quality content from Discovery Education Streaming Plus to educators statewide.
