Warner Robins and Northside get together tonight to renew one of the state’s great rivalries. Last year, the Demons pulled off a 21-20 upset of their highly-ranked arch rivals, which was by far the highlight of Warner Robins’ 6-4 season. Head coach Brian Way’s squad has not been to the playoffs since 2006 and is 0-4 this season, but you can bet that they will show up for this one. Meanwhile, the Eagles are 4-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class 4A. … Johnson County-ECI is becoming one of the bigger games in Class A. Last season, the Bulldogs pulled out a 32-31 victory and used that victory to win Region 3B-A with a perfect 6-0 region record. However, the Trojans got a measure of revenge last week by beating ECI in double-OT to take the inside track to this year’s region title. Folks in both counties are already looking forward to next year’s matchup. … The Gladiators of Clarke Central are looking rather solid this season. With a win tonight over Loganville the Glads will have their first 5-0 start since 2003. Central has won all of their games thus far by more than 20 points. Score 44 members Alan Posey, an OL, and Martay Mattox, QB, lead the Gladiators on offense. … Class A No. 4 Savannah Christian has a rough road game tonight in Claxton’s “Pecan Grove”. It will be the region opener for both teams. The Tigers have lost eight of nine in the series, but as they say in Southeast Georgia, you don’t go into the Pecan Grove and expect to come with a victory.
