Looking for a new job? If so, you should probably stop by West Georgia Technical College’s Callaway Conference Center in LaGrange this Thursday, April 13th.

U.S. Representative Drew Ferguson is organizing and hosting a massive job fair featuring more than 70 employers who are looking to fill more than 2,100 positions.

In addition to the job fair, the Congressman’s office said there would be a career skills workshop on site for those interested in resume writing, interviewing tips, and more.

Some of the largest employers in the region will attend, including Pratt & Whitney, Wellstar West Georgia, The Home Depot, NCR, UPS, U.S. Army, and Yamaha.

While not as big of a job fair as the one sponsored by Rep. Ferguson, there is another one in the same area the day before, on April 12th in Patrick Hall at Columbus Technical College.

This job fair geared toward Columbus Tech students but is open to the general public as well.

For those attending either job fair, be sure to dress appropriately and have multiple copies of an up-to-date resume. Remember, writing a resume in 2017 is different than doing so just a few years ago. Be sure to optimize yours when possible.

And don’t forget that first impressions matter. Being able to connect with people one-on-one and have a meaningful conversation is one of many soft skills all applicants should brush up on.

Job fairs are tremendous avenues to find new careers, network for future employment opportunities, and practice your pitch. For those interested in a new position, both of these job fairs should be on your calendars.
