Vocalist Lou Rawls born December 1

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and the sounds of the season are flowing on The Jazz Spot! This week we paused to celebrate the musical legacies of Lou Rawls, Billy Strayhorn and the debut of Duke Ellington and His Orchestra at the Cotton Club in New York City this week in jazz back in 1928!

We also indulged in music about the simple things in life, took time out for Hannukah and enjoyed some interesting stories told through jazz.
