Pianist Chucho Valdes, born October 9.

Tonight's edition of The Jazz Spot included a contined celebration of Latino Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15) by putting the spotlight on great Afro-Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes who was born this week in Jazz on October 9. We took the opportunity to celebrate the musical legacies of several artists like great pianist Thelonious Monk, Trumpeter Harry "Sweets" Edison and flautists Yusef Lateef.

We explored storytelling through jazz, smouldering hammond b3 sounds and more!
