Rain has caused several travel delays at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after the city experienced severe flooding on its highways.

This weekend is expected to be busy with travel as the holidays wrap up and with turbulent weather, and the airport is expecting slower travel times and interruptions.

On the ground earlier Friday, there was severe flooding on I-285. There were also several accidents attributed to the wet and slippery conditions.

Dunwoody Police Department also cautioned the public about the risky weather and advised everyone to be safe.

Better weather lies ahead for the weekend as the rain is expected to clear Friday night.
