Saturday is a big day in politics for Georgia's neighbor to the east.

Republican voters in South Carolina cast their ballots in the state's presidential primary (Democrats vote next week). GPB's Sarah McCammon is spending the year covering the presidential race for NPR. South Carolina may be next door, but she says political campaigns there are a species all their own. McCammon says there's a history of dirty tricks, especially on the Republican side. Donald Trump has threatened to sue Ted Cruz, while Cruz has engaged in back-and-forth with Marco Rubio over policy proposals and campaign ads.

The primary will be a decisive day for the GOP field, with Trump looking to build on his win in New Hampshire and Cruz hoping to recreate his Iowa win with support from evangelicals. McCammon talks with GPB's Bradley George about covering the primary.
